Friday Feel Good Tunes

Check out this cute little group, Pomplamoose. I heard their cover of Single Ladies at a fashion show and find them to be SUCH a breath of fresh air. Any group that plays their own instruments and shows some originality and creativity is good in my book.

Hopefully this helps you start your weekend off on a good note. (Get it...good note...its a post about music...I'm reaching, huh?)

Enjoy!!!

To the Max

OK...so part of me wanted to post this video because I just like looking, I mean listening to Maxwell. I also wanted to post this video in admiration of the set design. It is soooo fitting. Tinkers between seedy and sexy and dark and exciting. If you can tear your eyes away from Max and Kerry for a sec, try to check out the decor.

My favs...the massive wooden headboard and faceted mirrors by the bed (slea-zy...but wow). The lamp shades are straight out of a den of iniquity. The chair that Kerry is sitting in doesn't get too much face-time, but from what I can see of it...loves!

My only gripe...wth is up with the exorcist move that Maxwell does while on the bed. Scar-ryyyy LOL!

Alright lovlies...I'm looking at an extremely busy next couple of weeks, so I may not be able to post anything for a while. I promise to come back with something good and full of juicy designs. "Will you forgive me?" Crossing my fingers ;)

Here's a cute video of one of my favorite people, Lykke Li.

Lite-hearted

Check out M.I.A's latest video (posted last Tuesday on Twitter...I think the kids call that "Tweeted"...eh...) There's a bunch of talk about how the song is a protest to the New York Times suggesting Sri Lanka as a hot tourist spot (despite the country's very disturbing civil war)....yadda yadda yadda. In all honesty, I can't really tell you what her lyrics are about. I just enjoy the beat and light show (very reminiscent of playing with Lite-Brites as a kid ;)

Some other cool illuminations:

Has the potential to induce a headache with all the lit up laser cutouts....

but its pretty cool to look at. Just don't hold your gaze for longer than 10-20 seconds ;)

Can't remember where I saw this lamp but its so cute!

Another lamp(s) I can't remember the store it comes from
But how cute is this Boy & Girl set???

French conceptual artist, Michel de Broin, thought it would be
pretty daymn cool to make a huge disco ball
and suspend it 50 meters above the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris.
Couldn't agree with him more.

All About Yves

Happy Friday Peeps!

So today's post was inspired by how much I love my new mascara. Of course it comes from one of my favorite brands, YSL. Any of my close friends can tell you how I've been spreading the gospel that is YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils since a trip to Chicago where the Lancome representative insisted I try the YSL mascara over theirs. WELL! I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread until I met the new love of my life a couple weeks ago. Friends, I introduce you to the Mascara Singulier. I think this could be the real thing...tee hee.

I swear fo gawd! You will not be disappointed. It is the truth. Period.

Another necessity from YSL is the Toning and Cleansing Water. It will change your life. No, seriously.

I recently cut my hair and couldn't be more happy with my 2010 look. So since I'm on an "Inspiration" kick today, here's the muse behind my 'do.

Meet Tao Okamoto. This Japanese beauty popped up in my inbox a day or two before my hair appointment. I had no clue what I was gonna have the stylist do to my head until I saw this cute bowl cut. Sold!

From a WhoWhatWear email

(side note based off Tao's cute boots)
Loeffler Randall....Can I please add these cuties to my closet???

From the Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2010 Ready-To-Wear show
**See...it's still all about Yves**

Honorable Mentions from YSL Spring 2010 RTW:

Comfy and cute. I'll take it!

I think I'll be switching it up to something like this once it gets warmer in the city
(whenever the hell that happens)

Alrighty...Have a great holiday weekend, Everyone!!!
